To continue to set the Transformer collectors on fire here's a couple of images (much better ones) of the proposed Transtech Starscream.
Before scrolling down to check out the images here's some quick information about Transtech (the truth).
First to make the Transformers fans drool over the Transtech segment here's some information. The toyline was under development to include sound chips depicting the sound change from vehicle to robot. In addition, there was the concept of mini Transformers to also be included with this product line.
What was proposed is as follows:
Optimus Prime - Truck Megatron - Tank StarScream - Jet Fighter Silverbolt - Jet Wing ShockWave - Land Speed Car Cheetor _ Concept Car And lots on mini transformers
Models were made of the following from Takara. Cheetor Optimus Prime StarScream
Now fans have seen two of the three models (in hardcopy form) leaving just the Optimus to view.
Without any further delay for the fans of Transformers here you go!

and in robot mode:

Okay who wants to see more? How about a Megatron tank!

Uhm, I hate to rain on everyones parade but thats not a very good looking toy. And it really is not attractive in any aspect as a 'Starscream' toy goes.
I remember seeing some early concept drawings of this transtech line and disliked them a lot then. Now that I see an actual prototype I'm very glad the line was killed before it was put out.
Nothing against those who like the toy at all. I suppose its a decent enough toy but as Starscream??? Not likely IMO.
Peace |

Just to keep the information similar to the Cheetor posts here's the montage images to show how Starscream was to be transformed. I've checked out other TF forums and read some interesting responses and interesting questions. Here's some information.
T.Man the reason for the clear plastic on Starscream is due to this showing where lights were going to be utilized. A reason why this line was cancelled was due to Hasbro not wanting to take the line up to Pawtucket when the Cincinnati location was closed. Most of the drawings previously seen before on prior websites were all to be sent to animators for development of the show. The product had to be developed based off of their original drawings while influencing the direction on several of the main characters in the show. I'll supply more information and images soon.
Here's the montage:

Sems, I've heard about Hasbro's restructuring effort around this time, laying off over 2,000 employees, but... I don't really understand this statement. Please, would it be possible for you to elaborate? |

Hi Monzo,
Yes, I'll do my best to elaborate. I will do so soon. I apologize for not responding now, but will do what I can to explain soon.

It appears that the design/concept for TT Starscream was not completely thrown away. TOMY released the toy below the next year after TransTech was canned. It is calle "Lighning Garuda",and was made for the Hikarian line in Japan.
