I've been checking out some Transformers websites and noticed that alot of collectors have seen the images of the Transtech Starscream. I decided to contact a good friend of mine to get the lowdown on some of the unproduced Transformers.

Not much is known about the Transtech. If there's enough interest I can create an entire article to the proposed Transtech line, since my friend essentially knows the entire story of it. How you may ask? No comment! 8>) But as the Star Wars prototype collectors know and just by checking out some of the stuff in our archive, it pays to know people. 8>)

I'd like to personally thank my friend for this chance to set the Transformer collecting world on fire here at the site Aaron, Wayne, and myself call home. Instead of starting with Starscream (yes I have killer up close clear images showing the step by step transforming mode)I'll start things off with this previously unseen Cheetor!

More to come if you want to see them! Just post here and let me know.

Wow! As a huge Transformers fan, thank you for getting this out there for the fans to see. I always loved the Transtech line and would definately love to see more images and hear more about why this line never saw the light of day.

Oh wow! Please do show us more of this stuff. As a transformers fan I've longed to see what other transtech stuff was out there. Its a real mystery to our community because short of the one star scream proto and a few pieces of concept art, we've not only never seen the toys but don't really know what any of them look like or if they exist.

Oh, please please please *gets down on knees and begs*
I was so looking forward to this line before they canned it. The concept and art seemed awesome. THANKS. Really appreciate you going out and finding these!

edit:
(Also, would you be able to post pics of the bot mode for Cheetor?)

Who the hell did you beat up to get these pics and I've been wondering how Cheetor stands up in bot mode. You have pics of that?

Due to demand to see it here's two thirds of the transformation process. Enjoy!

This stuff is incredibly awesome, indeed. Any chance we'll see the rest of Cheetor's robot mode, Sems? I'm dyin' to know what head they went with... he had like 5 different ones on an early piece of Transtech art.

Incidentally, does your friend have items from the end of Beast Machines, as well? There's been a long-held rumor of a deluxe-sized version of Obsidian - this guy, here.

http://www.tfu.info/2000/Vehicon/Obsidian/obsidian.htm

There's another rumor/legend about the existence of a toy for the female plant Transformer from Beast Machines, too - Botanica. Nothing concrete for either of them has ever shown up, though.

Hi Monzo,

The answer is yes, I have more Cheetor in store for your viewing pleasure. A couple of images that are seldom seen for any toyline. What's better it's Takara and not Hasbro! 8>)

I have to check out some of the artwork floating about, but from what I can gather it's all for the tv show and not the toyline (although I don't follow TF so someone can correct me later when I post the next images). The images I will show are all for the toyline only and not for the tv.

Can I get more information about other segments of the toyline? It's all who you know. 8>) I'll inquire into it for you. It never hurts to ask. 8>) Stay tuned.

Well, it's that because hasbro only does the sketchs, and takara produces the figure from the skecths??

indeed, as at that time Takara didn't air Beast Machines at all (they only showed it this year as Beast Wars Returns)

due to poor Beast Wars sales in Japan, they didnt want another beast series, plus they were near bankrupt, so they brought back realistic vehicles (Car Robots) added with repaints to fill the line, western fans hated BM at that time and wanted Car Robots to be imported, which Hasbro did (RiD), and so did Trantech die (correct me if I forgot some details)

Hi Greensight,

For the Transtech line Hasbro created concept drawings and sent them to Takara, which Takara then turned around and created very detailed drawings of their own vehicle and robot modes. From the Hasbro standpoint remember there are two seperate segments. One is for Intellectual Properties (I.P.) and the other segment is Hasbro's in house toy design team. The Hasbro design team had to develop product based off of the drawings that were to be sent to animators for development of the show. While Hasbro created the initial concept drawings Takara created the toy design drawings.

Here's an image rarely seen, it's one of the drawings Takara created for Cheetor. As can be seen it's stamped Takara R & D.

Notice the close attention to detail in the sketch. The sketch really compares well with this back image of the hardcopy of Cheetor.

Go Yoke-san & Harada-san!

Judging by the hardcopy of Cheetor that phrase it so true!

There's plenty more to post and more information so please check back!
